Script or not script?

I am not clear whether scripts need to be added to each page.
From reviewers: Setup was easy, but I wish I didn't have to enter the javascript code in every page of my website.

Hi, you don't have to enter the tag in your Joomla's page, it is made automatically with the insertion of the Joomla-Visites module

the most recent commentors seem to confirm it is necessary ("The suggestion of "put the javascript on all of your page" should come second. Add the line to check your module first.")

Uploading the latest version I did get that red message:"Tip: Have you installed the tracker (javascript code) on your pages?"

So is that needed?
