Hi,

some users reported that visitors are not counted.

First verify that the Joomla-Visites module is published in a visible location.

Then, check if you have a red cross or a link Joomla-Visites in your page. Then, right clic on it and copy the url of the image. Open it in a new window and report the problem here with the url of your site.

I have the module active in the pages but is not fully visible (you can see only a double line in the bottom of the left coloumn. I have also installed the code in the template in the bottom of the page but is not visible in the front page (with IE browser).
Strangly if I use Firefox browser I can easily see the module and the tag in the bottom of the page.

Of course non numbers in the back end!!!

Can you image where the problem is?

I installed it on one site and it works fine. Installed on a second site and it doesn't work.

1st site is running under PHPsuEXEC so all files are writeable without having to chmod them.

2nd site is running under regular PHP so files have to be chmodded to make them writeable.

On the 2nd site using IE6 I can see a broken image where the module is located. The broken image properties shows:

Code:

  http://www.waialuacommunityassociation.com/components/com_joomla-visites/joomla-visites.php?url=http%3A// www.waialuacommunityassociation.com/&pagename=&id=1&res=1280x1024&col=32&h=18&m=51&s=14&flash=1& director=0&quicktime=1&realplayer=1&pdf=0&windowsmedia=1&java=1&ref=&user=0

in the image properties.

Are there any files that need to be made writeable?

Things I noticed that might help others.

There's no broken image to get the properties of if you use firefox. Instead you just have a link to the joomla visites site. This link isn't visible when things are working correctly. Use IE to get the properies on the broken image.

The broken image info made me realize there were other pages that are part of this component which I hadn't set the permissions on yet. (chmod) I had set all the permissions on the pages within the administrator folder structure but hadn't set permissions on the /components/com_joomla-visites/* folder structure. Setting those permissions fixed the system and it's now reporting statistics.

Tip: I use my ftp program to set the permissions at my hosted site. The tool the hosting company provides doesn't work very well.

I installed this yesterday and it seemed to count me once but then stopped working and doesn't count anyone. I have looked at the page source and it's entering the info below. Can anyone tell me why it's not working? Thanks! Michelle

Nevermind, I tried chmod on the two folders I saw and I think it works not. Thanks.

First of all I must say that I love your component, I've used it on some other sites and it is fantastic! Sadly, I'm trying to use it for a current client of mine and for whatever reason users aren't being recorded. I've looked at my folders and they have chmod 777 or 666 so I'm pretty sure that is all good. My site is

www.milehighala.org

I have the Joomla-Visites tag module on the footer module position (above the rockettheme logo). I look at my page source and see that the module is inserting the code correctly but when I hop to IE to look for properties of the red X on the image I'm not seeing anything. If anyone has any suggestions on where I should look to next I would be in your debt. Thank you for your time.
