File download / Url redirection : Url generator

Hi was just wondering how this 'File download / Url redirection : Url generator ' works. I want to track how many times a file has been downloaded. I have entered the path to the file and clicked the generate button. It has generated a url now what do i do with that to get it to show in the page views?
