In order to increase performances of your sites, you could use another database than the one of Joomla for Joomla-Visites. From the 1.1 RC1 release, this is possible.
Modify the file : 'administrator/components/com_joomla-visites/config/config_db.php' and write your database parameters (host, database, user, pass and prefix). Then copy/paste all Joomla-Visites tables (begining with jv_) in the new database.
